As a student’s association that offers United Nations training to all students of KU Leuven, KULMUN is in its sixth year. Through its organised setup and array of activities, the Model UN has been a great platform in which to produce an accurate picture of what the real United Nations looks like—and how its conferences are conducted—to all participants.
Its composition of 50 members and the model distribution of the different committees and executives has resulted in outstanding debates, performances and meaningful social interactions over the years. This does not exclude the priceless experiences gained by each participant.
Without a doubt or fear of contradiction, KULMUN 2016 will not be like anything you have seen before in past years given the representation of over thirty countries across those participating. This is a monumental and international event for the city, and it only gets better with each year because of the interesting topics for debate that arise, such as: the ongoing crisis in South Sudan; resolving the disputes in the South China Sea; eliminating violence against women and much more. Delegates have been working incredibly hard over the past few months, and now, they are ready to be heard during the conference. Loud and clear.
There remains only one way to find out. Be there.
And, if you are there already, enjoy.
